We have worked to align energy infrastructure proposals with the project’s overarching sustainability goals. That means shaping a resilient, all-electric site with long-term flexibility built in.
On the power side, we maintain and track a live record of complex electrical capacity requirements and chair quarterly coordination sessions with the power network operator. These sessions help manage sitewide power needs. But critically, they also open opportunities for more efficient infrastructure planning.
Our input on the district heat network planning is equally proactive. On this strand of low carbon energy planning we are working with the client to develop deliverable, innovative and cost effective heat networks for the entire project. This also involves the review and integration of heat network requirements with the plot consultants, ensuring coherence and continuity in response.
Much of our impact comes from early-stage coordination. By reviewing proposals independently and linking up the work of different teams, we help keep the energy strategy cohesive and technically sound from masterplan through to individual plots. The result is a development that’s not only energy-efficient and resilient but well positioned to adapt as opportunity presents itself over the next 10-15 years.
